16v idle

Hi all. I have an 87 16v. The idle is a little off. In neutral, the car sometimes is about to stall but then it picks up again. What is the cause of this? OVP, idle control valve, etc what is it? Thanks in advance.

About every six to nine months mine does the same thing. I haven't yet found a defective part. When I go through the trouble shooting steps in the shop manual and disconnect the various sensors and controls, test them and plug them back in the problem is always corrected. My problem has always been an electrical connection. There are discussions dealing with 16V idle problems (the 16Vs are notorious for idle problems) in the archives in this site as well as the 190 Revolution site. Good Luck.
