Aux Fan Replacement
 

Need advice. I am trying to replace the right aux fan in my 91 560sel. Everything that I have repaired on the car so far has been relatively easy and straight forward, everything that is except this fan. Does anyone have experience with replacing the aux fans in this chassis? I have tried to remove the plastic fan grille but was unsussesful. I removed the radiator and stil could not access the fans. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I had a 190E with the dual-fan setup. I had to remove both fans as a unit because you cannot get to the center bar bolts (the bar where the two fans seem to be bolted together). It was a while back but I rembered removing two top screws (10 and 2 0'clock position), two bottom screws (8 and 4 O'clock) and some bolt on top where the hood lock mechanism is attached. It takes time and patience but it can be done.
