Removing Door Lock

Ok. I think I'm going crazy. I remember reading a posting describing the procedure to remove a door lock (I think from a 300E, but mine, being a 190 should have the same steps.)

I thought I remembered the steps, but the lock would not come out.

Now I'm trying to find that posting again, to be sure I did everying correctly, but no matter what I use as search words, I can't seem to find it.

Can anybody help with instructions and/or pointing me to the original post?

Thanks

If I'd known then what I know now...

Hell, I'd probably still have done it anyways.

BBB, if its the same as my 300E. You open the door and remove the top small plastic plug and remove the lower large plastic plug. Behind the smaller hole is a Allen screw, lossen this and your lock will free up. Probe into the larger hole and gently pull out the wire and connection, disconnect. Insert your key and turn to remove the lock, pulling it towards you as you face the door.

Ok, I'll give that a try.

I did loosen the allen screw, but it didn't seem like the lock loosened up much at all.

I read something about turning the key some amount of rotation, I think 60 degrees or something, but I don't remember which direction. I'll giggle it a little bit to see what I can accomplish.

Thanks

As you are facing the door, you will have to pull the lock towards the back side of the door while you twist and jiggle the key and pull the lock towards you.
