removing the speedometor ON 190E 16V
HOW DIFFICULT OR HOW LONG OF A JOB WOULD IT BE TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE SPEEDOMETOR ON A 190E 16V-1986. THE SPEEDOMETOR WAS FLUCTUATING ON ME AND NOW IT JUST STOP WORKING. THE CABLE TO THE TRAN IS IN TACK SO I GUESS I AM GOING TO HAVE TO REMOVE IT.
COULD I GET TO IT FROM THE BOTTOM OR DO I HAVE TO REMOVE THE DASH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLIES |

That is not usually the speedo BUT the speedo cable that causes that problem.
Start by disconnecting the cable from the transmission FIRST. That will give enough "slack" to disconnect it from the speedo.
