First drive of the day, (summer or winter) transmission takes a long time to shift out of its first gear. After it does shift, it shifts normally for the rest of the day.

M.B. designed it that way!! It's for quicker cat/converter warm-up. Most cars after 1994 will turn on check engine if it doesn't delay the shift.
