560 Transmission into a 500SE ?

Im about to replace the transmission on my 500se with a 560 tranny (722.350).

1. Will it mate okay and perform well with the 500se engine?

2. Will I have to change from 500se 205/65/15 to 560SEL 215/65/15 tires?

If the 500SE is a 1982 thru 1990 car then the trans should be a direct bolt-in. The internal gear ratios are the same on both transmissions.

500se speedometer still okay with 560 transmission?

thanks. that is a relief.

I just drove the car today. It felt so smooth and quiet. As a bonus I now have the E/S (Economy/Standard) switch on my A/T. They had to add a vacuum switch/pump? to activate it.

So I guess on the tires I will have to keep to the standard 205/65/15.

Another question:

Is the 500se speedometer still accurate with the 560 transmission? I thought it felt slower than what the speedometer told me. Or maybe its simply because the car is now quieter and smoother? Ill go measure it on a known distance.
