no oil pressure after replacing T chain?

really need help on this one. Finaly got 86 500 SE with 420 SE engine back together after doing timing chain, upper and bottom rails, tensioner and oil pump chain and new rail for pump. It started up frist turn but no oil pressure I let it idle 30 or 40 seconds thinking like after oil change it takes a small time to show pressure ,but definatly no pressure????

it back together right I worked slow and turned engine more than several times to check TDC marks and made sure oil pump was turning properly ,hope I did no damage, dose oil pump need to be primed somehow?

It happened to me before you have to primed the oil pump first,A dried oil pump will not pump oil.

You have remove oil pump put it in oil turn by hand wait till no more air come out pump then reinstall pump start you engine check for oil pressure, sprocket to oil pump bolt is 25Nm lower oil pan screw is 10Nm.
