1988 300CE-won't start
Hi,
First the car was stalling if you didn't give it gas at all times, especially at red lights. But after 1 or 2 minutes it would start back up. Now it's in our garage and won't start at all. The battery is good, it makes a noise when you turn the key, it just won't turn over. Any ideas on where to start looking? Thanks! |

Fuel Punp RELAY would be my inclination. Had the same stalling problem when I owned a 1984 190E 2.3. The stock units were not hermetically sealed -- water would get in and corrode the contacts. I'd check this with your mechanic.

where's the relay?
i just recently started having very similar stalling issues... was told by my mechanic that it may be the fuel pump relay.
so... a few questions: -what does a fuel pump relay do exactly? -around how much $$ for a new one? -where is it? / how do i get to it? -is there a way i can determine if it's bad either by visual inspection or by testing it somehow? i think i've been hearing that buzzing sound too... mostly when i'm accelerating... hmmm thanks, camille |
