Front end feels loose?

When drivng my 82'380 sel on bumpy roads there is some shaking under the front end, you can feel it in the steering a little but it's mostly heard and the steering feels loose and sometimes at certain speeds it shakes(around 55-60m.p.h.),thought it was wheel balancing but after balancing it's still there.

You may be experiencing some wear on some of the front end components - tie rod ends, bushings, etc... Is there any "clunking" when you go over bumps and stuff?

tie rod

Sounds like tie-rod ends and possibly ball joint.

Would think you would hear a noise if it was stabalizer bushings or even the ball joint. But loose ness in the front end (assuming disconnect between stearing wheel and direction you'r going) sounds like tie-rod / idler arm / steering box. Probably something is worn out in steering linkage somewhere.

If it's not a sloppy steering wheel thing, could be struts, springs, tires, ball joints.

good luck,
Joel

Do you have a...

steering dampner in your car. It looks like a shock that goes accross the front tires. They go bad!
