Fuel Door won't unlock

Any ideas on this? I have locked and unlocked the car from every lock (including the trunk). All doors and trunk lock and unlock normally, but the fuel door doesn't. You can see the pin in the locked position.

Look in the trunk, under the right fender. There may be a door there that allows access to a manual fuel door open.

Thanks, I pulled out my manual and it said the same thing, but I can't find the lever. I pulled back the trunk lining on the fuel tank side and even had my flashlight out looking for it. Is it really small?

I managed to get the fuel door open by locking the trunk to the alarm on/trunk locked unless opened at the trunk mode, then unlocked and it came open. Does it sound like something may need some lubrication or is it just me needing to figure out the ins and outs of the cental locking system?

Hmmmmmm

Good question. My understanding was that if the car doors were open, the fuel door should be too.

Have you tried having someone unlock the doors while you listen in the area of the fuel door to see if you hear any sound?

looked again - found it.

finding that thing is a #$@@

when i got my E320 I also had the same problem and went crazy looking for it, then went to the dealer and boom...it seemed so easy

the weird thing is this happened on and off for 2 months and right after i ordered a new lock from Fastlane, the problem never happened again..go figure!

Try oiling the pin that unlocks the door...happened to me and after oiling I have never had another problem with unlocking/locking... Sometimes the correct approach is the simplest one!

David
