What's the scoop on Water Seperator Filter systems like those made by Racor? Should one stick with additives or splurge for the filter. Wouldn't the filter put more strain on the fuel pump? Thanks in Advance.

I use them in both my 240D and 300SDL. Have used them for years(since new in both). It filters the fuel very well but clogs easily. I replace them with every oil change and have no problems. If you don't change them often, they will clog and eventually stop the flow of fuel. Haven't had any problems with injectors or fuel pump.
