W126 Rear window channel rusted badly - repair panel?
 

Hi:

I just took the plunge and removed the rear window in my 1981 300SD to replace the gasket as it was leaking badly. What I found was a very badly rusted window channel all along the bottom between the window and the trunk lid. (I can't believe the PO let this go so long as to do this much damage.)

Does anyone manufacture repair panels/sheetmetal for this area? I am not looking forward to dealing with this, but I already have too much time and money invested in this car to give up now... If anyone would like to share their similar experiences and what they did, that would be great.
