SDL fender liner vents?
While replacing the motor mounts of the SDL, I noticed that there are vents in the fender liners. The right/passenger side one is right by the alternator. The vents consist of two jalousies(sp?) conencted to a lever held by a spring. I don't see an acutator. There's a vent on either side.
In comparison, the same liners on the SE are solid plastic. Any idea what the vents are for? Thanks, Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL |

I saw the same thing on my 190D. I thought that they may be thermetically controled vents. When it gets hot enough, they open, but nobody has confirmed this.
