Over Voltage Protection Relay

I just changed my OVP Relay a few days ago. It's located just behind the battery. It's the one with the red top and a fuse. You can't miss it. Just pull it out and replace it with a new one. Easiest fix you'll do on your car. The relay cost about $100 at the dealers, I got mine for $58 from an independent shop.

Sometimes you don't need to change your OVP, just check your fuse and tap it a little and that may do the trick. Worth the try.

If the fuse is okay and "tapping" the OVP allows your car to start, then the problem is loose solder joints inside the unit, which means replacement is inevitable.

The original unit is defective and has been replaced with an updated version.
