1999 E430 Airbag

Does anyone know under what parameters the airbags on a 1999 E430 would deploy on a frontal impact?

The car hit a pole square on at about 25mph and the bags didn't deploy.

Is it speed or a G-force or a combo?

Thanks

I'm pretty certain they only work above a certain speed, and also that the sensors don't work on G-force, but something else

Unless someone's badly injured because of it (I suspect you're in America so you'll sue if that's the case) you should be glad - they are very expensive to replace.

later..

There isn't any printed speed thresholds for deployment of the bag BUT if the seat belts are fastened, then the threshold is raised to the highest level. I would think around 25 MPH for a direct frontal impact would be criteria for bag deployment. The crash sensor does RECORD crash info.
