I have recently bought a 94 E420 for my wife and we are having a problem with the A/C blower working intermittently. The compressor is running and changing the temp and direction setting causes the temp and or the direction of the air to change. I believe that the problem is with the fan or the controller is there a way for me to pull the trouble codes from the A/C system myself ? Where is the fan controller located on this car is it under the wiper motor ?

The car only has 76K on it and MBUSA is taking there time making the CDs available for this car.

Be sure to check the strip fuse that is located on or near the drivers side strut tower. It is a small box about an inch by two. Open it and with the car and blower off (fuse cooled off), push on it, if it breaks, it was at fault. The regulator for the blower is located under the blower motor and is pretty difficult to replace not to mention expensive.

It is definitely not the fuse so is this a system that will give me a trouble code or do I go after the fan now ?

Where is the fan on this car and how do I get to it ? Is it in the passenger compartment and under the dash like the 126 and 123 or is it under the wiper assembly ? Since the shop manual is not available for the car can somebody just tell me where it is and point me towards what I need to remove to get to it ?
I am currently driving this car until I fix it and I miss my 500SEL.
