how to clean the exhaust?
 

Hey guys, in my 500E, i've noticed when i slam on the peddle which hits the kickdown button, smoke puffs out of my exhaust, a good amount of it. Is there a way to clean it out? It only happens when i hit the kickdown button, but...don't like it!

Mine also smokes, also only on kickdown...
I think it's just exhaust gases...

What you are doing is known as an "Italian Tune-up" We use to do that to clean up the system and it would make it run better.

Nowdays, buy some GUMOUT or MARVEL MYSTERY OIL every 5,000 miles; helps alot!

What color is the smoke?
If its dark you may have a slight rich running condition and that becomes more evident when you gun it.

i'm not sure of the color, i'm going to have to have someone hit the kickdown or watch me do it to tell me the color, its hard to see from your rear view mirror the color. I'll get back to you guys.
