Can someone readily identify a component that may cause the center A/C vents to work part time ? They seem to work more in the hottest part of the day.

Use the search function in the upper right hand corner of this page. Search for the words "center vent". You'll find about 12 posts regarding this topic. The problem seems to be caused usually by faulty vacuum elements or insufficient vacuum. I'm not a tech but, maybe you will find something that helps in those posts.
