i have an 87 190E 2.3-16V. while the engine is running, the fan is moving much tooo slow. i can put my fingers on the fan and hold it and it stop moving in a still position. does this mean the fan clutch needs replacement? or which other parts? the belt moves fast, but the fan spins very little. there is no overheating problem, well at least for now. any advice would be helpful and appreciated.

Your cooling fan is electromagnetic fan clutch.....engine cooling fan will turn on
100c or refrigerant pressure above 250psi never put your hand in cooling fan area it may turn on!!! ------------------ MB STARS Master Guild Technician,12 years MB tech 5 years independent shop owner |
When the fan comes on, it can cut off your fingers because it becomes locked to the drive pulley with no slip.!! The fan should come on by about 105C.
