i saw an ad for a '86 300E with 200K for 5800 bucks. I sure the price is a little high but is a 300E still a good buy with that kind of mileage?
|
I sold one last year with that mileage for 10,000 dollars. It is still running strong!! The car I sold was perfect in every respect and had new OE eight hole wheels and new MXV4 tires though.

Wow! Thanks a ton. Next time I will be registered.

What should I be looking for when I am thinking about buying the 300E? Any problems with the car that are hard to find? Are there any major parts/systems that start acting up at 200K?

By this time if they haven't had a valve job they need one. Have the car checked over by a competent tech who know Mercedes. The transmission should be payed attention to and the service records looked at for the trans service. If these things are in order, you should be fine. And check the A/C.
