I have an '87 300D Euro version with 4matic system. Car is a 124 sedan, and has logged 105,000 kms. Engine vibration seems to be stronger than in the past.

How can I check if my engine / transmission supports are really bad and have to be replaced?

What is the average replacement schedule for these engine mounts? My car is quite heavy at the front end due to the in-line 6 cyl. diesel, plus the 4matic hardware.

Thanks a lot to all you MB lovers.

By using a floor jack & piece of wood to raise the engine 10-15mm, see if the heavy vibration is gone. If so then the motor mts. are shot. Remove the under panel & place wood block on oil pan.
