Hi, recentlly I installed new rear brake pads on my car by following the procedures posted on the mercedesshop.
Now I had a little problem and hope someon could help me. When I first step on my brakes the rear brake will started to make noises ( sharpe noise ), but after a while the noise will fade away by itself as it come closer to a full stop. Sometimes when I heard this noise , I let go of the brake and bump it a few times then step on the it again, the noise will go away ( weird )
Such problem occur because I didn't apply enough brake paste ? or I forgot to clean the clippers ?
Thank you
Pete

Is "OE" brake pad you put on ??? or after market pad ??? I will go for "OE" pad only.

I had aftermarket pads on MINTEX from Bekker imports. Is that the reason why ? I had the same brand pads at the front with ATE power rotor and it didn't seem make any weird noises as the rear.
They claim the pads fits 98 %, and when I install them I can't tell the differents by comparing them with my own eyes.
Thank you

There are at least 4 quality levels in brake pad compounds. There are at least 6 O.E. pad manufacturers & most of them have several quality compounds. How do you get the pad that doesn't squeal?? Find what the original pad compound was & stick with it. The rear brakes do only 20/percent of the braking so a hi-perf compound isn't important. On the rear of my rece car I have OE pads(textar) & no fade.
