560SEL Idle adjustment

88 560 SEL idles at 1900 rpm and I can't figure out how to lower it.
I recently changed the "electrohydraulic adjusting element" because the old one leaked, and the shop manual says to adjust the idle. But how? The air flow adjusting screw is sealed with a metal plug that is not supposed to be tampered with.

You cannot adjust the idle. I suggest you do a search on OVP or similar, these symptoms have been covered many times.

Matt.

J - Did you solve your idle problem? I also have a high idle problem on an 88 560 SEL (see my posting for details and what I gave tried).
