Just a few questions....#1...Are the last six digits on the vehicle Vin# the engine number? If not, how do I find it easily? #2...Being an 86' 300E, does anyone know if the AC clutch pulley is a 4.5", 5" or other size pulley? #3.... When I buy a rebuilt AC with a clutch assembly, does it matter which size pulley/AC compressor I get? Finally, ...#4... The little cap on my door lock fell off. Is their an easy way to remove one at a junk yard and put it back on, or is this a take the door apart and remove the entire assembly?

AC/Pulley-clutch
 

Since the pulley has to be the same on my 86 300E for the AC, is it easy to take off the pulley/clutch assembly of the old compressor and put it on another compressor? If it is fairly easy, may I go to the salvage yard, and get an 86' compressor used, and change the pulley/clutch assembly, or do they all have different shaft sizes?
