leak at kickdown solenoid
i've had this mystery AT fluid leak for some time, very minor, showing drops on the floor when i left the car for a few days on vacation this summer. finally got it on a lift and it appears to be leaking at the kickdown solenoid. is this a common thing? is the fix to get a new solenoid or are there o-rings that can be replaced?
thanks |
Joe,
Working from memory here, but I think the kickdown solenoid has a crush washer, plus a small o-ring at the tip. The banjo bolt through the solenoid is a 19mm. Try gently snugging it up. I seem to recall the torque spec on that bolt was only in the 10-15 ft/lb range. |
hmmm, a crush washer would explain it since i think it may have been taken out for testing a while back (and may not have been replaced). worse comes to worse it's a $40 part...
thanks! |
