Wheel Bearing Replacement 87' 300 E

Can someone give the instructions to replace the wheel bearings in the front of my 87' 300E? I suspect this must be the cause of a loud roar that increases as I accelerate. Had a shop tell me awhile back that this would need to be done. I noticed in the Parts Shop area that there is an inner and outer. Could I also get the parts that I need to complete this?

Greatly Appreciated!

Are you sure that the roar is not tire related? My experience with these cars is that roaring has always been tire roar. The wheel bearings are about as bullet proof as can be on these cars.

If the roar seems to coming from the front, swap the tires front to rear and see if it changes.

Good luck,

I would verify its NOT the tires as well. I had a set of Yoko AVS dB's that were noisy in corners that sounded almost like wheel bearings going out. IF you do need to change the wheel bearings, Fastlane sells the kit for $25 or so per side that includes both inner and outer...

Wheel Bearing

I thought the same thing about the tires but, I bought new tires and the noise is the same.

Thanks for the parts info. Is this a difficult DIY?
