Tach 86' 190e 2.3 8V

My tach stopped working. How can I check if the tach went bad,
or maybe some other component related to tach?

i remember reading in a previous post that the fuse supplies the electromagnetic clutch fan which cools the radiator also supplies the tach,so check this fuse in the fuse box.Is your car running hot in traffic or at idling ie the temp gauge climbing towards the red mark at the top??

hope this helps.

The clutch fan works a O.K. The other thing I just noticed is the
themperature display on the instrument cluster disapeared.

How did you check them?

I've posted this so often I'm getting bored - fuses and the fuesbox connections corrode badly on certain Mercedes. Replace ALL the fuses with new ones, and clean all the contacts in the fusebox. Only then is it worth looking at anything else.

later!
