I have a 1992 500SL. I had some work done last week and the service manager
pointed out that I had a coolant leak. There is a trail of caked white
residue starting at the rubber hose and clamp on the upper driver's side of
the radiator and extending down the entire length of the radiator.

The hose and clamp seem fine. I do a lot of city driving, but the car has
never run over 100 on the temp guage and there have been no overheating
incidents. I have not noticed this residue before and, as I said, it is
caked and dried.

Is this cause for concern? Is there a problem of some type here? Is there
anything that I should do? Thanks,
JR

Do nothing. Just look at it every so often to insure it is not a visible leak. If it leaks visibly, you may want to have the hose and clamps replaced.
