I can't seem to find a posting I read several weeks ago on warnings against using ArmorAll on dash covers. (or is it dash top ?) Mine on the 81 SD is still in pristine condition and would like to keep it that way. What should I use to extend its life ? |
I suggest to just keep it clean. I have read that the alcohol in most protectants can harm them.

Hi, Benzmac -
I'll post this in Detailing section as well and will remember not to post these topics in the Tech Help section. Check out - http://www.eskimo.com/~dalus/bmw/all/carcare/all_dont_use_silicone.html |
a few friends of mine studied 'Armour All' at college in their engineering class a discovered that the moisture (and oils) were brought to the surface, there-by drying out the dashboard in the long term...now that was 25 years ago...

Thanks, Metricman - Every new finding steers me more towards Lexol Vinylx. |
