My W124 got hit! :( help e :(

To make a long story short, my sister backed out of the garage and hit my car :(

So anyway, I'm trying to figure out if I can just replace the impact strip alone, and not the whole bumper.

car is a '94 E320 W124

First: I have no idea if you can replace just the impact strip, since you have a different bumper than mine. (Plastic?)

Second: That is downright scary pictures!
Only last weekend i was rear ended pretty hard. -The young fellow almost smacked his head through the windshield. But no injuries other that a bruise on his forehead.

The front of his Opel Kadett was demolished. Grill, headlights and front bumper was a mess. My Mercer..? Nothing! And i mean NOTHING. Not as much as a tiny scratch in the impact strip. (rubber strip)

I simply couldn't believe it would take a smack like that without any damages, but it did.
It's one heck of a sturdy vehichle. -Exept maybe for the plastic bumper on your model..:(

Yes, the impact strip can be removed.

Adsit Company, Inc. sells them for $139.00. Their part # is 089-2413.

800-486-1593.

You can also try Phil at Parts Shop. He has a relative who works at a Mercedes service and repair facility that is also a big dismantler of Mercedes and BMW vehicles. The shop is in Anaheim, CA, and Phil might be able to obtain one for you.

I just noticed that you live in the Central Coast of California, so shipping would be cheaper if the part came from Anaheim.

There is also a dismantler in Costa Mesa, although I don't remember the name. Try a search under Costa Mesa, and it should come up.

Also, Mike Tangas frequents a Mercedes dismantler in Fontana, CA that might also be worth a call. You can try e-mailing MikeTangas directly or try a search and see if you get lucky.

Thanks for the help guys.

I'll call the dealer monday to see what they quote me for the part. I also have a friend who runs a bumper place here, so I'll see if he can get the same prices as Adsit Co.

thanks :)
