Since some of us are stranded without MB manual for 126/617 engines (discontinued),
I am looking into the Bosche Injection Pump manuals offered by Robert Bentley Publishers.

Q - They have several injector pumps manuals, one covering injection pumps type PE and PF,and another for type VE.
There also one "Diesel Fuel Injection" and a fourth title "Diesel Injection - an overview"

Any recommendations ?
Also, any other source for the discontinued 617.951 engine manuals ?

Thanks !

Hi, Benzmac

I understand rocking engine at stop lights after sustained cruising can be corrected by tweaking the injector pump controls...

Also, just trying to get around the problem of obtaining MB repair manuals, plus wanted to get a better working knowledge of things under the hood.

The car runs great on the highway.
Has new motor mounts, and the MB shop dismissed it needing transmission bushings, if there are such things.

Tweeking of injection pump is best left to the professional that has pump bench at his disposal. The rocking at idle can most likely be attributed to a wornout rack dampener spring. This is a Bolt with a set nut on the rear of your injection pump. About 1/2 way down, alittle hard to see/get to. This bolt has a small plunger in it that has a spring behind it. The rack of the pump sets on the plunger at idle and it dampens the bouncing of the rack. Partis only a few dollars and to have it installed professionaly would be a good investment. Good Luck with your cross country relocation. I've been through it and do not enviy you.
