My '99 E320 with about 9,000 miles has an annoying problem. Whenever I come to a complete stop at a light or stop sign and gently ease up on the brake pedal (still stepping on the brake, just easing off the pedal), the car shakes fore and aft. It's not a major shake down, but enough to make it very annoying. Any idea what the problem is before I make a trip to the dealer? Thanks.

Sounds like the effect of a vacuum leak when the pedal is depressed. Possible that the check valve is faulty in the booster line? Just a thought.

Sounds like you may have a transmission problem. Try moving the w/s Switch to the other posistion from what is is now. Does this make a differance? Do you notice if this allways happens? Happens only after comming to a stop quickly? ie being stoped before downshifting is complete? Not a sudden stop. Your car is still well within warr. I sure that if you discuss your concern with a Service Advisor that it can be resolved. If this is not a consistant fault. Have a technician or the shop foreman ga for a road test with you when you drop the car off for service. These road test are one of the best tools that they have for identifing and repairing a problem.
