World Upholstry MB-tex
Has anyone purchased replacement seat upholstry (in MB-Tex) from World Upholstry (www.worlduph.com)? They sell seat bottoms for $145 and claim it is actual MB-Tex. I want to make sure it will be the same quality as the original stuff before I buy.
I may first try to have my old seats restiched, but I don't know if its possible (they are in pretty rough shape - pleats are gone, pleat padding has fallen out, underlying fabric is weak, etc.). Thanks, Greg '84 300D |

You might want to give Ron's Restorations outside of Atlanta a call at 888-416-1057 about redoing your seat.

I bought a front seat kit from them [frontseats, back of seats, head rest and arm rest covers] for $522. also orderd the palamino dye to do the vinyl on the top lid on my 380SL.
I took the seats to a @nd generation auto uphoster to install them. [$300] I did'nt order seat padding,as he built the old ones up. He liked the kits so well he wanted their address. they are MB-tex and they look great. I saved some$'s by removing the seats myself, as he said MB seats are a real bear to r&r and he was right. Good luck, Don |

Back when I ws reconsidering re-carpeting my old W115 240D, I sent away for a swatch of the wool pile carpets they carry and was very impressed with the color match, and quality feel of the carpet. It doesn't surprise me that their MB-tex is that nice.
