The best 2-post lift I've seen is an electric screw lift made by Nussbaum of Germany. These are around $3000 plus freight. The lift can be stopped in any position safely, has no hydraulics, is very quiet, and has fairly low posts (124"). For any full-rise lift, a 12' ceiling is about the minimum .

I plan on installing a 4 post unit by Stinger. They have several customers in the St. Louis area. I have visited the customers and the 4 post is the preferred style.
