1994 E320 fault codes 2 and 6?
The check engine light just came on my wife's 1994 E320 wagon, so I followed the procedure to read the codes, and 2, 5, and 6 came up. The car has 150,000 KM's and is running and idling fine.
Error code 5, EGR is well documented and I will follow the directions to test and clean. I cannot seem to find codes 2 and 6 mentioned in the archives. Would someone please id them for me? Thanks, John Wells |

That is a nice complete list of codes for the Diagnostic Module N59, but it does not say what models or years use that module. Can I assume that the listed fault codes apply to any vehcile?
In that case the fault codes say: code 2: Heated oxygen sensor inoperative code 6: Idle speed control inoperative Thanks, John |
this page shows the fault codes for your car:
http://www.batauto.com/MB/ It looks like you have the correct info from JimF's page. Out of curiousity, have you ever replaced your engine wiring harness? |
By looking at the codes, you may have a bad O2 sensor.
Regarding code number 6, your idle speed is controlled by the throttle actuator, which is a very expensive part - about $1,000. Better hope it's just your O2 sensor. |
