ASR Defeat Switch

Has anyone installed an asr defeat switch? Was it worth it? How hard are they to install? Is this something a domestic auto electric shop could install? If I want to add the first gear start later will these work together? This is for a 1994 sl500. Thanks for any help or insight you can give me Dairel
