Drive Train Vibration
I have a slight vibration in the drive train of my '92 190E 2.3 when applying power. It goes away when I coast (take my foot off the gas). The vibration is speed sensitive -- i.e.: the faster I go, the worse it gets.
A search of this site points to the following items as possible culprits: 1) Rear Axles 2) Flex Disks 3) Center Bearing Have I overlooked anything? Does anyone have any further insight on diagnosis? Where should I start? Thanks in advance for your help. Jeff Pierce |
It happened to me..
Last week I had a loud bang under the shifter while driving. I thought I ran over something. At the next light i noticed that when I hit the gas the car shook until I let off or until i got into 3rd gear. After a nervous drive home I found a had broken 1 of the 3 bolts that connects the drive shaft from the trans to the flex disk. Found 1/2 of the bolt stuck into the body above the disk. Replaced the bolt and all is well.
