psteinke my parts are almost here, just waiting for the delivery guy to drop them off now, could be today or monday, so I will definately let you know.
As for the EHA current. my car only hesitates when the current is 0, it is my understanding that on cars with only positive eha current, it's supposed to be at 8ma, can anyone correct me? and it goes up or down from there to richen or lean the mixture. I just noticed today also that my current jumps up to 56ma when above 60kmph and let go of gas, as in decel switch is engaged, other then that I have not seen the current go above 11ma even when accelerating on the highway, and I know it used to go higher. I got the OVP in front of me now, checking to see if it works. One thing I did notice just now is that without the electronic controls, ie, the OVP removed, and I started the car, the seems to be skipping a beat or two in the range of 1k-2k rpm, which is where it hesitates the most, so maybe this is not coming from the controls at all, but the distributor cap, once replaced, I will know for sure. I'll keep you all posted. Keep in touch. xp |

It's fixed at alst!
Just to let everyone know, my car is fixed. As it turned out, it was not the spark plugs, the wires, the distributor cap or rotor arm, all have been replaced anyway.
My car hesitated because of a terrible adjusted fuel mixture which knocked the computer controls out of the equation because the mixture was set so far off. Thanx to this forum (Stever in particular) I got the mixture back where it is supposed to be and now the car runs beautifully, so far it has not skipped a beat or hesitated at all. I will be making a seperate post with a list of things I had to do in order to fix it a bit later on (I'm in school right now) So watch for it, and lets get rid of thei hesitation in every benz that ever suffered from it XP |

I re-read your first post and yes, do give us the conclusion! It would help others I am sure. Amazing .... it still bears truth, often we want to replace/repair the expensive things, but often it is more simpler items and adjustments. Thanks for keeping us informed.

Thanks for the info, xp!
Just a follow up question: I guess a exhaust analyze will reveal the wrong mixture setting BUT does the lambda sensor(O2-sensor in exhaust pipe) need to be unplugged when setting it? As far as my knowledge goes if the lambda sensor still is plugged in it will try to correct mixture to lambda=1,000. So if you turn adjuster to much (or leans it out) u won't see it on the exhaust analyze because the system will try to correct it to 1,000, right? Is it possible to do the adjustment by reading out duty cycle at pin 3 in diagnosis socket. And when duty cycle is 50% it's all set up, right? I'm asking because last year when I had this done at a work shop they did use a exhaust analyzer and didn't unplug lamda sensor.

FYI on top speed. I believe I got this info originally from the old 190 Revolution forum. The columns don't line up like they do on the original document, but I think you can figure it all out. If not, I can e-mail or attach the original MS Word doc.

I'm gonna look into adjusting the mixture some more, I know I got the eha current right on now, but what about emissions? Looking at the O2, it reads about 0.5V, and it should be reading around 1V when on idle, so something is still amiss, the myster continues, and I think this is greatly affecting my gas mileage, something still needs to be done.

more hesitation
well I had some engine problems and now it's hesitating again, as soon as I have a chance I will unplug the O2 and see what the computer goes to. I'm not sure if it's the mixture again, it shouldn't be, but something must be wrong, or went wrong somewhere along the way.
the eha current does the same thing again, after being in idle for a bit, it falls to zero and stays there until I go over 40kmph, this will happen well over 2k rpm, so it's even worse now then it was back then, but that's because the mixture is leaner. Fortunatley I only drive my car on the weekends now cause I got school and I walk to the bus staion and take the bus from there, but man it's a frustrating experiance when the car hesitates like that.... when I get out of work I'll unplug the O2 and see what the computer goes up to, if 7mA like I set it to, then it's the mixture, if not, then maybe I can adjust it a bit again..... maybe the computer realized a change just now... who knows, I still think all components work fine. xp |
