What might cause car to pull to right ?
Hi,
My E500 is pulling to right. Just had car aligned by dealer. What might be causing this on relatively flat surface? Last time I had an alignment done, car drove perfectly and the current alignment specs are close to the previous specs. Any ideas? thanks farrukh |
Did you have any handling issues BEFORE the alignment was done? If not, take it back and have them recheck. If so, and the alignment did not solve the problem, then misalignment could have caused the tires to wear such that they will not track properly. Try swapping front/rear.
You could also have any of a multiple of worn parts in the steering, front or rear suspension which can cause this. Steve |
Check the tire pressure.

I had a similar problem. After launching my car over a curb (all four wheels) it was pulling to the right. Took it to NTB and they put it on the rack and said it was not in need of alignment. They recommended rotating the tires, asserting that a steel belt or two might be compromised. They moved front to rear, rear to front, and I drove off with the car driving like a train on a track. No charge at NTB, by the way. They just want to sell tires and batteries, I guess.

fhmajid,
From the cd manual: Complaint: Vehicle heads to the right on flat surfaces Model 124 except 4matic Cause/Remedy Influences of tolerances in components of front axle and body. Perform the following wheel alignment adjustments on the front axle (ready-to-drive) Caster Wheels in straight ahead position (Toe in value 0) Left = 10, right = 11 With wheels turned Left 9 40, right 10 40 Camber and toe-in (unchanged) specified value The numbers are in degrees and seconds. I didn't know how to use superscript fonts. Good luck, I know how annoying aligment problems are. George |
It also could be a tire with conicity or a broken belt. Rotate them front to rear and see what happens.
Good luck, |
