Mercedes 190D

4 or 5 speed transmission, which one is the best?
I am planning to by a 190D but would like to know which transmission to go for.:confused:

Depends on how you're going to use the car. 4 speed is better for commuting, lower speed highway driving. 5 speed is better for highway, autobahn driving, and economy, and not so good for commuting.

Buying used, it's probably more important to get the best car in all respects and ignore whether it's 4 or 5 speed.

A 5 SPEED MANUAL WOULD BE BEST CHOICE (IF AVILABLE). HOWEVER STAY AWAY FROM THE AUTOMATIC IT IS VERY SLOW!
