tech help??i know,i know!

sure this isn't a tech question-directly but i think this is where it will be used the most.i'm amazed at all the tips/shortcuts/info contained in this forum.my problem is that i can't remember it all!is there someone out there that is computer savvy enough to tell me(and i would think others as well) how i can start a folder and cut and paste into it from this section.step by step would be great.i hope it's not too involved.thanks in advance:) ;)

Highlight the text (left click then move down the page). When you've highlighted the disired selection, then RIGHT click while your cursor (arrow) is in the highlighted area. In the drop-down menu, choose "copy", then create a new document in MS Word (or any other word processor) and "paste" it there.
I save my documents in a folder I call "MB Info". It's easy to search, and it's been an invaluable resource for me.

I hope this has made sense.

I think the best thing for you to do would be to simply save each page. If you are using Internet Explorer, simply go to FILE, then SAVE AS...
Then choose a location to save to.
If you need to create a folder to do it, I would suggest right clicking some empty space on your desktop (before doing SAVE AS) and pointing to NEW, then FOLDER. You can rename this by right clicking and clicking rename.

That's exactly how I save a bunch of pages on this forum that I refer back to from time to time.

I just save them in My Documents.

When you "Save As", I suggest saving the file as a single-page.

To do this, when the "Save Web Page" dialogue box comes up, look towards the bottom for "Save As Type" and click the little upside down arrow head to reveal "Web Archive. single file (*.mht)" then click on the "Save" button.

This will save a single page instead of multiple folders along with the page you want.

Simpler and cleaner.

yeah....but.......

that's what i did/do but i end up with a folder/file containing all the icons(smilies) and headers-in short i also end up with everything on the page in it's own little space.what i'd really like to do is save JUST the info i need and leave the rest behind.ie:names, signatures and some of the redundancy

OK, then I would click on the "Show Printable Version" at the bottom of every Forum page (lower-left). This version you should be able to edit, select and copy what you want and paste into a word document.
