oil filter on 111 EVO engine
 

I found the oil drain plug and have the proper wrench to remove the oil filter cover. Do I just pull the old filter element out? Pictures on another site using another MB car showed a shaft being removed with 3 O-rings on it. I purchased a MB filter from the dealer and it had 1 big O-ring for the cap and the washer for the drain plug. Am I missing something in the filter box or am I just worrying too much since I have not actually started the job and seen what is under the filter cover. Car is 2002 C230K.
