I want to replace the power steering pump filter and replace the PS fluid on my 300D Turbo but I don't know where to start. What I need to know:
- I think the filter is in the tank that's on top of the pump. Any special tool/procedure to remove it? Should I drain the fluid before trying to remove it? - How should I go about draining the fluid and then filling it up? I'm concerned about draining as much out as possible and bleeding the air out once I've put the new fluid in. Any help or info appreciated. Take off the clip or the 10mm nut which ever one applies. Then the filter can be grabbed with a set of needle nose pliers. Crawl under the car where the PS sector is and locate the 12mm bolt in the back side. Take off this bolt and turn the wheel to the left lock (with the engine off). Then allow the fluid to drain . Reinstall the bolt and fill with fluid. Once you restart the engine, keep adding fluid to the right level.
