List of Useful Mercedes Related Web Sites
I spent many hours compiling a list of very helpful MBZ related web sites at work and the damn company went belly up and my list with it. Surely, if all of us contributed their favorites in this thread, it would be a worthwhile effort. Obviously, none will be as good as mercedesshop.com, but sometimes second best is good to know about. Here is one I just came across that has many links: http://www.slack.net/~thundt/mercedes/
and for you folks with older cars or do restoration, you might like: http://www.adenauer300.com/ Please add as you can. |
Here are some:
http://www.benzworld.org/ http://www.mbca.org/MBCA_Tech_TOC.htm The one below is a site with a lot of links. This should help restore your lists. http://www.exconde.com/links.htm Haasman |
For those 6.3/6.9 fans out there check out http://www.m-100.org .
http://www.mbz.org houses the archives for some very active email lists (although the site crashed recently, so the archives may not be up for some time yet). You also can join the appropriate list there - they have around a dozen different ones. www.mbnz.org has forums like Mercedesshop - just not quite so good IMHO. They are organized by chassis though, so it may be easier to find info related to your car. A basic info site for 109/109 owners or want to be owners is http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Pines/6633/w108w109/w108owners.html . Geocites has some sort of lame traffic limit, so it's unavailable if too many people hit it in an hour. A 126 fan site is available at http://home.concepts.nl/~vlimmere/index2.HTM , and finally, let's not forget the guys over at Diesel discussion, who put together http://mbdieseldiy.tripod.com/index.htm which has some of the more common diesel jobs. Its aimed at the 123 folk out there. Oh, and how can I forget the 107 SL site. Quite informative. http://home.hiwaay.net/~gbf/107sl.html. Hope this helps! |
MBcoupes.com
MBcoupes.com is an excellent list for later coupe owners - my experience is with the 380/500/560SEC section where Satish Tummala rules as an experienced owner who recently transplanted a 32 valve V8 MB motor into his 560SEC. There's a substantial focus on performance enhancements as well as regular repair information. Of course, most of the SEC data applies to the 380/500/560SEL also.
My piece on replacing the injectors in the 117.968 engine appears there. http://www.mbcoupes.com |

This is an excellent site with a particularly good article about fixing electric clocks. It also references a few articles by Steve Brotherton, so it must be good! |

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/ seems to be interesting as it not only has a Mercedes section, but most other cars too.
