Removal of self levelling suspension pump 16V

I was wondering, to dismantle all the associated components of the 2.3-16V is rather straight foward. However before I start doiing that, I was wondering how to plug up the hole on the 16V exhaust cam end when the pump is removed?. Anyone who has removed the SLS hydrolic pump from their 16V or similar car, could you share some info on the conversion.

Btw, could the normal non-16V springs (especially the rear ones) be used with Bilstein sport shocks with on sls attached? or do I need to upgrade ths springs. I think the 16V springs have a higher kg/mm than the non-16V's....

you can purchase a block-off plate from

16v springs are actually softer than the 8v springs because most of the weight is taken by the SLS.

Email Dave of the former Delsing Motorsports which made parts for our 16v cars. His email is He recently sent me a block off plate with gasket and o-ring for a third of the price of the bekkers kit. It is also heavy metal, definitely well engineered. Give it a look. In terms of springs, you must change your rear springs as 16v rear springs are too soft. If you keep your front 16v springs, try the 8v sportline rear springs (email fastlane for prices I believe it was 77.00$ or something like that). if you dont want to go that route, change all your springs for a 190E 2.3 8v aftermarket springs. H&R are best.
