BRake problems

76 450slc rebuilt brake calipers front and rear, new rotors front and rear, new hoses front, rear hoses unable to remove.
brake pedal still goes to floor with little resistance. can get some brakes if i pump them multiple times.
Do i need a new master cylinder or booster?
How do you diagnose a master cylinder problem and if it is in need?
please help

1) did you bleed the brakes?
2) ad it been the booster, the pedal would be HARD. (on the other hand if master & booster are gone, pedal will go to the floor).
3) if you press on the brakes and the engine revs-up, it's vacuum/booster related. Check for leeks on hoses from manifold to booster and see if master's bolts are tight.
4) your master is gone....

You will probably get more info from Peter soon! :D

You can easily check to see if your booster is working by doing the following: With the car off, pump up the brakes until you have resistance and hold it there with your foot. Start the car and the pedal should depress, basically sink from under your foot as the vacuum is applied.
