I would appreciate any help relative to changing the bulb of the little vanity light behind the sunvisor of my E430. The light is activated once you open up the mirror cover. The mirror is located behind the sun visor itself. What kind of bulb is it and how can I remove the white cover of the light without messing up the cover and the area?
Thanks in advance, SGF |

Are you sure it's not the contact plate where the visor meets the headliner clip? My wife thought the bulb on her W210 car was burnt out, and I cleaned the contacts, and presto!
If it's not that, someone else will have to help with removing the bulb, as I haven't done one yet...

I have a 300e. The driver's vanity visor light doesn't come on, even though the bulb is good. The dome light also stopped coming on when the driver's door is opened. Would dirty visor contacts block the dome light from working when the door is opened? Any other thoughts why these don't work?

Does anyone know where to find replacement bulbs for the vanity visor lights? They are 12V, 3W "festoon" style bulbs. No parts store has them and the dealer says that they're discontinued (or that I'd have to order the whole visor, homelink and all, at $400+ [yikes!]). Any help is appreciated.

I doubt the bulbs are DC. The dealer just want to sell a $400 visor. I replaced mine with the dealer bulb. Just open up lid exposing mirror and give it a quick tug towards you. Yes by the lid. It wont break. 10 second job replacing bulb. Bulb was $1-2. I beleve. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice, and I also got an email from MB USA confirming that the bulbs are still available and may be ordered through the dealer at $1.70 apiece. That sure beats $400--and even though I think the parts guy at the dealer honestly couldn't find the part number for the bulb alone, I'll see if I can get them to comp me the bulb for my troubles! Stay tuned and thanks again.
