Is it like this on the 1994 E420 too, I noticed some openings under the seats.

Rear console vents are for fresh air/AC only. The heat comes out of vents underneath each front seat. If cold air is blowing out of the console vents when the system should be heating then yes, you have a problem. I believe it is a simple cable adjustment. I had this problem in my old 300SD.

Germans know what my grandfather taught me . Keep your feet warm and your nose cold.

When i put the heat on cold air comes out of the console vent. How can fix this?

Gee BRIBENZ why didn't i think of that!!!!!! According to my manual when in the heat mode no air should come out of that vent.Even when vent is closed cool air still comes out.

There is an adjustment(cable) for that vent under the change holder beneath the radio.

M.B.DOC Do you mean the ash tray ? On my car there is an ash tray under the radio.

Yes. Remove the ashtray and the panel over the shifter and you will be able to access the cable. That is the one that needs adjustment.

Thanks: I will adjust it this weekend.
