A/C Compressor STOPS Working after heater/ac problems

A few months ago the problems started--

The A/C compressor would run normally when selected however, there was constant heat out of side and defrost vents and no cold air.
After testing the vacuum actuators with the MightyVac I found two bad vacuum elements:
1. element for defroster outelt flaps(flaps "closed") and
2. element for fresh air/recirculating air flap(flap "open")

After several months of not replacing the vacuum actuators, I tried the A/C compressor again and now it doesn't run at all.

My question: will replacing the vacuum actuators fix the A/C compressor?

No, but it will probably fix the constant heat problem as the heater valve on that car is vacuum actuated.

The flaps will have nothing to do with the compressor. You will have to treat these as two separate problems.

You need to first check to see if the a/c has an adequate charge. There is a low pressure switch that interrupts the compressor clutch circuit when the refrigerant is low. This protects the compressor from low refrigerant, low lubricant situation.

Good luck,
