The Banjo bolt on that screws into the thermostat housing of my 1983 M110 has rusted away.
I have temporarily replaced it with a normal bolt.
The bolt attaches what looks like some type of metal bypass hose that connects to the waterpump as well.

Can I do any damage by blocking of this hose woth the normal bolt ?

thanks

This allows air to bleed out of the cooling system. Not a good idea to block it off.
